New poster Ideas








Fonts

I have downloaded some fonts that i thought would work well for the look im going for.

new background idea

I wanted to create a distressed background for my posters to create a more youthful and intresting look than the simplistic posters ideas so far. I dont think simplistic is the right way to go with this as it wont attract the audience this is aimed at.

I knew the kind of look i wanted and was thinking how i was going to do it when i realised i had a guitar hanging on my wall that had being finished to look unfinished and aged.

I photographed the back of it and then played around with the levels, contrast ect to get the right colour.

Mixing the two ideas together


This mixes the boots are made for walking and play umbro live umbro ideas together.

Even though i think it looks good im not sure about the font, being aimed at football fans i think it needs an in your face font with some attitude.

WHOOPS!

i have just realised iv being saying these boots are made for walking when its walkin'

not that important but if i want the pop culture refference to work it should be corrected.

A STUPID idea that a GOOD slogan came from

With the new shoes being the ones you would wear at all times off the football pitch you basicly live in them so i had a moment of madness and thought about the old women that lived in a shoe and thought i could make the new shoe into a house with the slogan PLAY IN UMBRO, LIVE IN UMBRO

I hate the idea but i think the slogan could really work and also it sells football boots too, Double wammy.

These boots are made for walkin

"These Boots Are Made for Walkin'" is a pop song written by Lee Hazlewood and recorded by Nancy Sinatra. It was released in February 1966 and hit #1 in the United States and United Kingdom Pop charts.
Subsequently, many cover versions of the song have been released in a range of styles: metal, pop, rock, punk rock, country, dance, and industrial (see selected list below). Jessica Simpson made #14 in the United States in 2005 with her version based on the movie, The Dukes of Hazzard. Geri Halliwell and Jewel also released remakes of the song.



Jessica Simpson recorded her own version of "These Boots Are Made for Walkin'" (and added her own lyrics) for the soundtrack to the film The Dukes of Hazzard (2005). Simpson's cover was co-produced by Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, and was released as the soundtrack's first single in 2005). It became Simpson's fifth top-twenty single in the United States and its music video drew some controversy because of its sexual imagery.
The song was listed at #90 on ARIA Charts: Best of All Time - Singles




The Idea!

UMBRO want to advertise a shoe that is designed to be worn for everything except football so my idea is to base a campaign on an old song called these boots are made for walking. The song is used in TV shows and films constantly and also Jessica Simpson released a slutted up version not long ago that was used on the dukes of hazzard film so most people will know the song.

I am going to use posters and im also thinking of doing a story board for a tv ad using humor doing a slight parody of the Jessica Simpson music video.

UMBRO research part 4 (Previous shoes)

 With this being a project for a new umbro shoe i thought i should quickly look into previous shoes from umbro.

STII

UMBRO research part 3 (VS)

Umbro Vs is all about clashing two different football cultures together,  and with the latest range, Umbro have looked at the worlds of  five-a-side football in England and the surf and beach soccer culture in  Huntington Beach, California. In the video above, we speak to football  players from both Manchester and Huntington Beach to discover the  similarities and differences in the way they both play the game.

I love the style of these posters, the comic book look almost says you will be as fast as a super hero in these shoes, infact it does say that!




UMBRO research part one (are you fox or chicken)

I will start off by looking into previous campaigns by umbro starting with are your fox or chicken.

Basically this is a cleaver way of saying you will be faster than others if you wear umbro shoes, You being the fox and others without umbro boots being the chicken. I think this is a really good campaign, as its a strong idea and its quite memorable.
